In 1986, after a serendipitous series of events, Marty Mathis, Michael Denoyer, and Don Saunders purchased the company. They brought new energy to the business while staying true to Ron’s original vision.

What began as a dream has become a family tradition. Today, Grand Canyon Expeditions remains a close-knit, family-run company, with generations working side by side—from the office to the river. The Canyon is part of our lives, and we’re proud to help make it part of yours.
