Grand Canyon Expeditions Guest Photos – a How-to Guide

What happened to Shutterfly?

Since 2014, Grand Canyon Expeditions has been using a Shutterfly Share Site for our guests. This site allowed guests to share and download photos from their trips. Furthermore, it allowed them to view pictures from other trips. Our guests uploaded almost 200,000 pictures to the site! However, at the beginning of 2023, we learned that Shutterfly would be discontinuing share sites in March of 2023. You can find more information here. We had to think of a solution – and fast!

We wanted our guests to be able to share their photos and experiences with others from their trips. So we put our heads together and came up with an answer.

Grand Canyon Expeditions Guest Photo Galleries

So we needed to give our guests the ability to share and download photos. But – it had to be easy to use and easy to access. We then came up with a great idea! We decided to use Google Photos and link the albums directly to our website. That way, you don’t have to leave the site to view pictures, and they are much easier to find.

In addition, we decided to create this guide for our guests. It will have a step-by-step process of uploading and downloading pictures from Google Photos.

Please do not upload guest information, including lists of names and emails. This is a public site and pictures with personal information will be deleted. Thank you!

Thank you!

To start, you need to find the Guest Photo Galleries page on our website. There are a couple of ways to navigate to the Guest Photo Galleries page. You can access the site in the email you receive a week before your launch date. Another option is to go online to https://www.gcex.com/guest-photo-galleries/. You can also navigate to the gallery through our website menu by going to TRIP INFO > PHOTOS AND VIDEO >  GUEST PHOTOS | GALLERIES.

Once you’ve navigated to the site, there will be a list of trip albums. You should be able to scroll through until you find your trip date.

NAVIGATING TO YOUR TRIP ALBUM.

When you find your trip date, hover over it until you see the green box that says, “Read More.” To access the album, you need to click on that green box.

Clicking the “Read More” box will take you to your trip album in Google Photos. This Google Photos album will allow you to add and download any pictures from your trip that you would like.

ADDING PHOTOS TO AN EMPTY ALBUM

If your trip date photo album is empty, you need to click the “Add photos” button. (As shown below)

Clicking this button will bring up a Google Photos uploading screen. You can choose photos you already have uploaded to Google, or you can choose them from your computer.

If you have already uploaded your pictures to your own personal Google Photos account – you can go through and select them.

If you need to upload them from your computer, you will choose “select from computer.” This will bring up a navigation screen for your computer. Simply choose the location where you have them stored, choose which photos you want, and upload them from there!

(This photo is a Windows 10 screenshot – yours may look different depending on what system you are running)

HOW TO UPLOAD PHOTOS TO AN ALBUM WITH PICTURES ALREADY UPLOADED.

Uploading when there are pictures is a bit different. The upload option is in the top right menu of the screen. The icon is a picture with a plus on it (highlighted below). This will open the same upload menu as above, so you can add pictures from your google photos account or from your computer.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD PHOTOS FROM YOUR TRIP ALBUM.

To download pictures from your trip, you will need to choose the top right menu above the album name and click on the three dots for settings

From there you will choose the “Download all” option to download all of the pictures from your trip date album to your computer.

If you want to be selective, simply click on the photo you want, and click on the menu in the top right corner of that picture!

You will then have the option to download that photo to your computer!

THANK YOU.

We here at Grand Canyon Expeditions love looking at our guests’ photos and seeing the canyon from your point of view. We are very excited to be able to share these albums with you and for you to be able to share your photos with others! Thank you for traveling with Grand Canyon Expeditions – and we’ll see you on the river!
